    27 Single Draw tips

I will provide a summary of the "must know" 2-7 Single Draw tactics for busy people that don't have the time or patience to read through all of the 27 Single Draw strategy articles listed above. I have condensed the major concepts found in our strategy articles into a few short paragraphs.

    27 Single Draw hand selection

As I mentioned above this is the most important part of a successful strategy. Hand selection in 2-7 Single Draw is the most important decision you will make. There are plenty of factors that should help you determine which hands to play. Here is a list of some of the more important factors along with explanations:

    • Number of players - As with any poker game the number of players in the hand should be a major factor in which starting hands you play. If there are 6 players in a hand you should be much more selective with the hands you play when compared to a hand with 3 other players.
    • Type of players - Knowing the competition is also an important factor when deciding which hands to play in 2-7 Single Draw. If you are playing against mostly loose players you may want to loosen up your style. If you are playing against mostly tight players you should play a little tighter.
    • Position - Position should play an important part when determining which hands you play.

Since people that want to learn more about 27 Single Draw hand selection are mostly interested in hand ranges so I will provide some basic information on that below. :

    • Early position - I tend to only play hands that consist of 4 cards under 10 when I'm in an early position. Hands like 3-5-7-9-X are worth playing as long as there are no raises before me. If my hand doesn't improve after the draw I will typically fold.
    • Middle Position - Depending on the number of callers or if there are any raises I will typically play 10 or less 4 card hands like 3-4-7-10-X. I bluff every now and then in middle position when my hand doesn't improve.
    • Late Position - I am somewhat lose with my hand selection when I'm in late position. 27 Single Draw is one of those games that greatly benefits players in late position. I will sometimes even keep face cards like Jacks and Queens.

If you get dealt a 5 card hand that is 10 or less in any position that is always worth a raise. Even hands with face cards will win a lot of the time. The number of players that draw cards should be considered though.

    Bluffing in 2-7 Single draw

Bluffing is a major tactic in 27 Single Draw. Since this is exclusively played in no limit format it is easy to bluff people. It is even easier since it is a draw game. Once every 10-15 hands I will usually just stand pat and raise pre-draw. A big bet post draw will typically give me the win 99% of the time.
