27 Single Draw Rules

Fixed limit 2-7 single draw is a poker game played with seven players for the single draw variant. All players will receive five cards for their hand. The game will start with two mandatory bets called “blinds”. The blinds are used to make certain that all players have money in the pot. The small blind will be paid by the player immediately to the left of the dealer, and the big blind is the player that is immediately to the left of the small blind player. The blinds at a fixed limit work as follows: if you are playing at a $2/$4 table, the small blind amount will be $1 and the big blind is at the $2 amount—half of what the stakes are at the table. When the blinds are placed, every player will receive five cards face down starting with the small blind and dealt out clockwise around the table; these five cards are also called “hole cards.” Once all of the players have their hole cards, the betting round may begin

Betting Round

The player that may begin betting is the player to the immediate left of the big blind. The player to the left of the big blind may raise, fold, or call the big blind amount. Once this player has folded, raised, called the big blind, the action continues in a clockwise direction where all players my either raise, fold, or call. This first round of betting will end when all players have either called or folded for the highest bet on the table. If no player raises during the first round of betting, the player who is designated the big blind will have the option to check without having to put any more money to the pot.

The Draw

Once the initial betting round is complete, the players will now draw. The draw will begin with the player who is designated the small blind. The player will then have the option to either draw one, two, three, four, or five cards or they may “stand pat”—drawing zero cards. Once the small blind player draws, each player, starting to the left of the small blind, will have a chance to draw new or stand pat. When all players have had a chance to draw their cards, the next round of betting may begin.

The Final Betting Round

The final round of betting will start with the small blind player. They will be able to either bet or check their hand. The betting will then continue around the table in a clockwise manner, and all players will be able to either fold, raise—if there has been a bet, call—if there is a bet, bet—if no player has bet, or check—if no player has bet.
