The Rules of the Game
Since 27 single draw is played with a big and small blind, each player will be dealt five cards face down, which are called the player’s “hole cards" or pocket cards. The first player after the big blind player will have the option to raise, call, or fold their hand. The action of betting will continue in a clockwise direction around the poker table. When determining the winner of the game, the player with the best five cards, Two through Seven, will take home the pot. This is one of the few poker games where a Royal Flush or any of the face cards such as the Jack, Queen, and King will not help out the player’s hand during the round. If two or more of the hands have the same value during the “Showdown,” the entire pot will be split equally between each player that tied. In 27 single draw, card suits will have no ranking in order to determine who will win the pot.
